Best ATV/UTV Street Tires in 2025

May 16, 2025 May 16 2025

Introducing our newest segment, Tread Talk! Each month, we’ll be breaking down ATV/UTV tires to make it easier for you to shop. If you want to keep up with new uploads, be sure to head over to our YouTube channel and subscribe!

Before we dive in, we wanted to clarify that these are not DOT compliant. There were laws passed a few years back that made it so all ATV/UTV tires are categorized as “Not for Highway Service” (NHS) tires. We recommend you check your local regulations to see whether your allowed to ride your ATV/UTV on the streets. Read more on this here.

Ranking Criteria

To make things fair, we’re going to look at the same 5 factors for each tire.

  • Tread Design and Road Contact– Tires with tighter, flatter tread patterns offer better grip and wear more evenly on pavement.
  • Ride Comfort and Noise– Pavement magnifies vibration and sound so smooth and quiet tires make all the difference.
  • Handling and Stability– How well the tire tracks in corners, resists wobbling, and provides confident steering on hard surfaces.
  • Durability on Pavement– Asphalt tends to wear down tires faster than dirt does so you want a tire that resists heat and abrasion.
  • Price and Longevity (Value)– The best pavement tire should offer a long lifespan for the price, especially when it will be used often.

NOTE: Prices listed in this video and article may be dated so please check the website for up to date pricing.

5. Duro Frontier

Kicking things off at number five is the Duro Frontier. It’s a reliable tire with a radial design, available in 4 and 6-ply options.

With a mild, symmetric tread, it offers a comfortable and quiet ride on the road — perfect for low-impact use.

But it ranks number five because it lacks some of the handling precision and long-term durability the others offer. It’s also not as responsive at higher speeds.

The good news? It’s the most affordable tire on this list — coming in at just $119 to $190 per tire. If you’re a casual rider who wants a smooth ride at a great price, this one fits the bill.

4. GBC Mongrel

At number four, we’ve got the GBC Mongrel — a tire that’s purpose-built for hard surfaces with a 10-ply rating and radial construction.

It features a rounded profile for excellent road contact, high-speed stability, and minimal tread squirm.

So why isn’t it higher? Well, it’s one of the more expensive tires on the list, and its ride is noticeably firmer compared to more forgiving options.

Still, if you’re looking for a high-performance tire for dedicated road use — the Mongrel delivers. Expect to pay between $102 and $273 per tire.

3. Quadboss QBT846

At number three, we have the QuadBoss QBT846 — an 8-ply radial tire that balances strength with a smoother ride. This one’s designed more for trail performance but still does a solid job on the road.

The tread is more aggressive than our top two picks, which gives it a bit more bite off-road — but also a little more road noise and vibration.

It’s easy to handle at lower speeds, but you might notice a bit more sidewall flex when pushing it on hard surfaces.

Still, it’s a solid hybrid tire — and for $153 to $241 per tire, it’s a dependable option for riders who split their time between the road and the trail.

2. Airloc Paladin

In second place is the Airloc Paladin — a surprisingly strong road performer with 10-ply construction and radial design.

This tire’s 10-ply construction enhances its durability and load-carrying capacity. It is going to provide better puncture resistance and overall resilience.

The mild tread and smooth center rib give you low rolling resistance and one of the quietest rides in this lineup.

While the soft sidewalls reduce sharp cornering feel, it’s stable and reliable for everyday speeds.

Add in the fact that it’s priced at just $143 to $200 per tire — and you’ve got one of the best values for riders who mostly stick to the road.

1. BFGoodrich KM3

And finally — our top pick: the BFGoodrich KM3.

Now, this tire might surprise you at number one — because it’s a mud and off-road powerhouse. But here’s the thing — its 8-ply radial build, strong sidewalls, and premium compound make it one of the most durable and versatile tires even on pavement.

Fun fact about this tire — it was actually designed based on a truck tire.

KM3 offers solid street performance and acceptable on-road noise levels for the rides to and from the trail.

The terrain-attacking tread design features massive blocks for incredible grip at any angle. The KM3 grips, it lasts, and it handles better on-road than just about any other mud tire out there.

With a price tag between $214 and $414 per tire, it’s an investment — but if you’re looking for a tough, go-anywhere tire that can survive serious road miles, this is it.
